Earlier today we had a water line let go on my project. The source of the leak was stopped but the water caused damage to some of the finishes and they will need replacing.
Im fairly new to this process so wondering what my next steps should be and what I need to do with insurance? My company has a policy in place for the project so not concerned about coverage.
Thanks! Robie
If you have a risk department make sure to notify them immediately, if not provide notice to your insurance company. They will provide guidance on next steps but it typically involves you filling out a report and an adjuster visiting site.
As far as work on site goes, bring in some fans and dehumidifiers. Alternatively, there are companies that specialize in disaster relief and so a quick google search might turn up one of them that you can call. Watch the equipment they bring on site though as they have a tendency to try to overload so they can charge more!
Good luck.
