Term:Catch Basin [CB]
« Back to Glossary IndexCatch basins are part of many drainage systems that act as a drain. They are typically made up of two components – a grille (large metal / steel top) that allows water to enter, and a concrete, brick or plastic basin that captures the water from above.
The purpose of a catch basin is to “catch” the water from above, store it temporarily before it is sent off via piping to drainage points.
