The deal secured through the YORbuild3 Major Works framework sees the firm return to the site after converting it to a temporary Nightingale Hospital for the region nearly three years ago.

BAM has secured the deal under an early contractor involvement basis after being the only contractor to submit a tender.

Convention centre owner Harrogate Council is aiming to sanction work to start in the Autumn.

The design team includes Arcadis and architect and project manager, with Silcocks on board as M&E consultant and Buro Happold as structural expert.

The refurbishment of the 42-year-old Convention Centre will include improving conferencing facilities, known as the “Studio 2 works”, as well as providing a main works package including essential accessibility improvements and mechanical and engineering upgrades.
