Toronto’s streets are full of pot holes, but none quite as deep as this one in Port Lands, one of five shafts being dug for the Don River and Central Waterfront Wet Weather Flow System that aims to stop untreated waste water from being dumped into the lake during high-rainfall major storm events. In this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor flonicky, the shaft appears to be a new entry point to the earth’s core… but will stop somewhere short of releasing molten magma into the regenerating area.
