The countdown for North America’s largest utility industry event has begun for utility and construction professionals. Registration for The Utility Expo 2025 is now open. Set to take place October 7-9, 2025, at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, this biennial event is a gathering for utility industry leaders, showcasing the latest innovations, equipment and solutions in a fast-growing trade show dedicated to utility and construction. The biennial event features over 900 companies bringing equipment, tools and technology dedicated to transmission and distribution of utilities to accommodate modern life, including electric, gas, telecommunications and water.

What’s new in 2025
This year’s Utility Expo includes several new features including:
- Hosting the HDD Rodeo, a high-stakes horizontal directional drilling competition where top drilling crews will compete across eight lanes for substantial prizes, including advanced equipment packages and cash awards;
- The expo also strengthens its commitment to safety through partnerships with the Common Ground Alliance (CGA), to promote National Safe Digging Month, emphasizing the critical importance of calling 811 before excavation to prevent underground utility damage;
- The NUCA Equipment Operators Challenge, a fun and engaging competition withcompetitors operating equipment in challenging games. Challenges include: Hole in one putting, soccer, corn hole, a water slide challenge, and a pipe placement challenge;
- Expanded education offerings, more field classrooms and a new lunch symposia;
- Co-located Women’s Conference, Power to ADVANCE Women in Utilities (Professional development workshop) .
