Colourful cladding is beginning to transform the facades of Rushden Station, where Fitzrovia Real Estate Inc. is advancing the first phase of its purpose-built rental community in Toronto’s East End. UrbanToronto last provided an update in June, 2025, when construction was still dominated by bare concrete, but two of the three towers designed by bKL Architecture are now showing some sections of green and red cladding. The towers are on their way to 29, 37, and 39 storeys alongside Danforth GO in the Main Street–Danforth area.
Looking northwest across the GO tracks to the south elevation earlier this summer, the three towers are on their way up; the east tower (closest) has reached five storeys, with formwork decking in place for the sixth and portions of the seventh, supported by dense shoring. To the west, concrete walls and rebar mark the centre tower at 14 floors, while the west tower pushes a few levels higher. Temporary green safety netting is seen across the higher levels.
Taken more recently, this northeast-facing view captures the west tower now rising 19 storeys above the shared podium, with green-hued window wall cladding extending across six levels, with the same system wrapping the stepped-back fifth-floor just above the podium on the west elevation. At the very top of the image, the crane can be seen lowering a fly-form into position to advance rebar projecting from freshly poured concrete walls as crews prepare the 20th floor slab.
The centre tower, meanwhile, now climbs 15 storeys, boasting its first striking patch of red window wall newly installed at the sixth level above the podium’s amenity floor. Above, a white concrete boom pump is positioned to the right of the central crane. Between the west and centre towers, a mid-rise podium section has topped out at 10 floors, capped by a parapet wall that will frame an outdoor terrace. To the right, formwork and rebar are advancing through the seventh and portions of the eighth floors of the east tower.
Looking southeast across the north elevation, the west tower’s cladding now wraps around the facade, spanning floors six through twelve and extending across the double-height fifth floor, save for the gap at the northwest corner where the construction hoist is fixed. The podium’s thicker concrete columns below distinguish the double-height fifth floor. To the east, the centre tower shows its first completed run of red cladding and glazing at the sixth floor, marking the emerging contrast in finishes that will help define the three-tower composition.
Together, the three towers will deliver 922 rental units at final heights of 108.25m, 132.20m, and 138.10m, while a second phase — the proposed Tower D further east — is planned at 57 storeys and 194.55m.
