On September 17th, employees from SFA Saniflo Canada joined Habitat for Humanity Waterloo’s Team Build Day. The initiative brings corporations and community groups together to support affordable housing in the region.

Saniflo’s team was on-site at Habitat Waterloo’s newest build location, working alongside skilled volunteers, Habitat construction staff, and future homeowners Melissa and Detlef, who are building a home for their family in Wellesley, Ont. Melissa and Detlef, along with their two sons, have already contributed hundreds of volunteer hours to realize their dream of homeownership, and the support of partners like Saniflo helps make that dream possible.

Some of the team were tearing down the wood structure of the roof on one home. This was an existing home being torn down and it’s property will be used to build new homes in the future. They preserved as much of the wood and nails as possible – those that were in good condition could be sold via their ReStore and/or used for other purposes. The other set of SFA Saniflo employees were installing Styrofoam to provide insulation on another home; more specifically, providing insulation outside the exterior wall.
