It’s a reasonably common sight on Toronto streets these days to see heritage walls of the previous building on a site propped up by a scaffold as new construction gets underway in behind them. Such is the case at the corner of Church and Charles streets where the exterior of the low-rise apartment buildings that stood here until recently will become the outside wall of the podium for a new tower in behind. In this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor Benito, the crane seen through the former-and-soon-again-to-be window is evidence that something is underway in the rear.
