Term:Scarifying

Scarifying in construction is the act of removing part of (typically the top) of concrete slabs or structure. If a slab is too high for the floor finish you may opt to scarify. It can be done with a scarifying machine and can bring the surface of something down a few inches. This is typically a very expensive option and should be avoided wherever possible.
