New rules under the Ontario Labour Mobility Act now allow workers bearing certifications from other provinces to apply to work in Ontario immediately while their Ontario regulatory body processes their application for Ontario certification. Workers need to follow the process laid out by the Ontario regulatory body to file a labour mobility application. The regulator then has 30 days to accept or deny the application. If the application is accepted, the worker can then work in Ontario for up to six months while the regulator reaches a decision on whether to extend them full certification.
