The civils specialist has secured the trio of jobs under Thames Water’s £200m-plus AMP8 Major Projects framework for Developer Services and Infrastructure Programmes.
The framework targets complex infrastructure needed to unlock development, covering diversions, requisitions and lateral drainage tied to third-party schemes.
At Brent Cross, adjacent to the Peel Centre at Rushgrove Park, Barhale will design and build a new offline foul storage attenuation system.
The package includes a diversion from the existing foul sewer, a 560m³ shaft tank to intercept flows from a CSO discharging into a watercourse, and a pumped return to an existing manhole.
At Benson in Oxfordshire, Barhale will deliver a new 500m foul gravity sewer and 15 manholes to serve new housing and boost capacity for existing residents. The scheme shortens the current network route and improves system resilience.
At South Basingstoke, Hampshire, Barhale will construct a new 590m sewer and associated manholes at Winchester Road, alongside capacity upgrades to a 484m stretch of existing sewer and manholes at Kempshott Lane. The works will enable future housing connections.
Design across all three schemes is being led by Barhale’s in-house specialist design arm, ESL.

“They are also providing a substantial benefit to existing residents and businesses by increasing network resilience and the ability to cope with increasingly extreme weather conditions.”
