With April being Construction and Skilled Trades Month in British Columbia, the B.C. Construction Association (BCCA) has announced its BCCA Builders Code 2025 Champion Award winners, which recognize companies in the sector that are making a positive difference in advancing the culture of that province’s construction industry.
B.C. Construction Association Builders Code Champion Awards:
- ETRO Construction Ltd. — Workplace Culture Champion (Large company) — Burnaby
- Green Island Builders — Workplace Culture Champion (Small-medium size company) — Victoria
- Emil Anderson Group — Recruitment, Hiring, Retention Champion (Large company) — Kelowna
- 4C Services Inc. — Recruitment, Hiring, Retention Champion (Small-medium size company) — Vancouver
- Axiom Builders — Community Champion (Large company) — Vancouver
- KJ Controls Ltd. — Community Champion (Small-medium size company) — Nanaimo
- Northern Legendary Construction Ltd. — Initiate of the Year — Fort St. John
BCCA Builders Code Champion Honourable Mentions:
- EllisDon Corporation — Vancouver
- CGI Constructors — Victoria
“We want to extend a special thank you to all the hard-working individuals who make B.C.’s construction industry the powerhouse it is,” said BCCA president Chris Atchison. “This month, and every month, we celebrate the incredible efforts of the businesses and builders who make the development and growth of our province possible.”
Winners will be recognized throughout the month at various regional construction month events.
Officially proclaimed by the B.C. provincial government and now in its eighth year, Construction Month (www.constructionmonth.ca) is a time when British Columbia’s construction industry celebrates the hard work and commitment of the more than 28,000 businesses and over 250,000 British Columbians who work in the sector.
The association views Construction and Skilled Trades Month as a time to acknowledge the contributions of those who build B.C., explaining that the dedication and expertise of these companies, and of the individuals at these companies, helps keep the province growing. BCCA looks to support them through initiatives that promote investment in infrastructure, the use of modern policies and prompt payment.
“BCCA is committed to continuing to advocate for this sector and calling on the provincial government to support construction across B.C.,” added Atchison, “We encourage the provincial government to celebrate Construction and Skilled Trades Month by taking the necessary actions to stand up for this industry.”
