The property services specialist will support the 15-year programme over the next 12 years, starting with fire remediation projects in 2026/27.

It joins existing delivery partners Amber Construction Services, Axis Europe, Durkan Regen, Equans UK & Ireland, Foster Property Maintenance, Kier Places, Morgan Sindall Property Services, United Infrastructure and Wates Property Services.

L&Q’s programme is one of the biggest home improvement drives in the housing sector and will upgrade rented homes to meet the Decent Homes Standard.

Works will cover kitchens, bathrooms, windows, roofs, mechanical and electrical upgrades, estate improvements, redecorations, fire safety and energy efficiency measures aimed at bringing homes up to EPC C.

More than 21,000 homes have already been improved since the programme started.

Cardo works across repairs, planned works, compliance, fire remediation and energy efficiency for social housing clients across the UK and Ireland.

Liam Bevan, ceo at Cardo Group, said: “L&Q’s Major Works Investment Programme is a landmark investment and a real opportunity to improve the safety, comfort and environmental performance of residents’ homes and communities at scale.

“Cardo brings vast experience in delivering property services for housing providers, and we are looking forward to working closely with L&Q and its current partners to deliver improvements that residents can really feel.”
