The Canadian Construction Association has published its recommendations to Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc in the 2025 pre-budget consultations. Much of the memo addresses measures governments can take to protect the Canadian construction sector from the effects of U.S. tariffs and Canadian counter-tariffs. The recommendations include:
- Removing barriers to interprovincial trade
- Building trade-enabline infrastructure across the country
- Investing in housing infrastructure
- Update and modernize government procurement
- Prioritize skilled trades in immigration criteria
