Downtown Toronto grows more dense every year. Looking southwards from a high vantage point in the Wellesley and Jarvis area, one of the dips in the wall of skyscrapers on the horizon is now being filled. In this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor Rascacielo taken on Sunday, May 4, the crane atop the SkyTower at Pinnacle One Yonge is helping to identify the distant waterfront building with its boom glowing like a light sabre (in honour of Star Wars Day?). Standing about 72 storeys tall now, the building is heading for 106 storeys, supertall status, and what could be a long-held record as the tallest building in Canada.

Don’t miss you chance to listen to and engage with Jodi Buck and Nadine El-Gazzar of Hariri Pontarini Architects as they discuss the challenges designing this unique building, along with panelists covering One Bloor West and Forma, via our free webinar on Tuesday, May 13 at 1 PM. You can register for this special event here!
