The £100m scheme is being delivered through a joint venture between Watkin Jones and Maslow Capital.
Located on a brownfield plot in Bristol’s Temple Quarter regeneration zone, the project will deliver a mix of studios and cluster rooms across three blocks, including 30 non-ensuite units.
Plans target BREEAM Excellent, EPC B and WiredScore Platinum ratings as Watkin Jones continues to lean into sustainability credentials to futureproof its rental portfolio.
The development is scheduled for completion in time for the 2028 academic year.
Gwyn Pritchard, managing director at Watkin Jones, said: “The Gateway 2 green light reflects the strength of our partnerships, the quality of our design, and the hard work of our teams.”
The go-ahead in another boost for the firm in Bristol and follows Gateway 2 approval in February for its £60m Freestone Yards job in the Temple Quarter.
