Full Description
This truck AutoCAD block set gives you ready-made drawings of the trucks you see on a construction site, so you can drop them into site plans instead of drawing vehicles from scratch. The set includes both overhead (plan) and profile (side) views.
What is a truck AutoCAD block?
A truck AutoCAD block is a pre-drawn truck saved as a single reusable object in a CAD drawing. You insert it into your plan, then move, rotate or copy it as one item. Truck blocks are used on site logistics plans, delivery and laydown layouts, loading dock and driveway drawings, and presentation plans to show where vehicles park, load and travel. Using blocks keeps drawings consistent and saves drafting time.
When to use it
- Site logistics and mobilization plans showing deliveries, staging and truck routes
- Laydown area and crane pick zone layouts
- Loading dock, driveway and access road drawings
- Traffic management plans for the jobsite entrance
- Presentation drawings and proposals where a site needs to look realistic
What’s included
One DWG drawing file with truck blocks, shown in both overhead and profile views:
- Transport truck
- Flat bed truck
- Cab only
- Trailer only
- Double trailer truck
How to use the blocks
- Open the DWG file and review the trucks and views included.
- Check the units and dimensions of each block against your drawing before you insert it.
- Copy the truck you need into your site plan, or insert it as a block from the file.
- Rotate and position it to show the real delivery, parking or loading position.
- Place the block on its own layer, such as a vehicles or logistics layer, so you can turn it on and off.
- Use the cab and trailer blocks separately when you need to show a different combination.
Tips
- Confirm the real vehicle size with your supplier or hauler. Truck dimensions vary by make, model and region.
- Use profile views on elevations and sections to check clearances under canopies, scaffolds and overhead lines.
- A static block does not show turning paths. For tight access, check swept paths with a suitable method or tool.

Frequently asked questions
What is a CAD DWG file?
DWG is the native drawing file format of AutoCAD. It stores 2D and 3D geometry, layers and blocks. Many other CAD programs can also open DWG files, and viewer programs are available if you only need to view or print a drawing.
How do I insert a truck block into my drawing?
Open the block file and copy the truck into your drawing, or use your CAD program’s insert or block palette tools to bring it in. Once inserted, the truck behaves as one object you can move, rotate, scale and copy.
Which views are included?
This set shows the trucks in overhead and profile views. Use the overhead view on site plans and layouts, and the profile view on elevations and sections where height and clearance matter.
Can I edit the truck blocks?
Yes. Blocks in a DWG file can be exploded or edited in the block editor, so you can change linework, colors or layers to match your drawing standards. Save a copy of the original file first so you always have the clean version.
Are these blocks suitable for swept path analysis?
No. These are drawings of trucks for showing position and footprint. Turning and swept path checks need vehicle dimensions and steering geometry, so use a method or tool designed for that when access is tight.
